Welcome to the Rex Players
The Rex
Players were formed in 1996, when a few adventurous Wareham
people put on an evening’s entertainment at the Rex Cinema.
The idea took off and the show has gone from strength to
strength, in recent years playing to full houses for five
nights.
Like the
Wareham Carnival and the
Purbeck Film Festival, the Rex Show has become part of the
local calendar. Over
the years the Rex Players have raised some £40,000 for local
causes.
As a variety show, with a large cast and everyone doing what
they’re best at, it’s a highly entertaining evening. Thanks to
strong teamwork and a dedicated backstage crew, the show is fast
moving as well as fun.
We always
need people with ideas for the next show, performers prepared to
sing, dance, act or make fools of themselves, speciality acts,
musicians, people behind the scenes, front-of-house staff,
committee members etc.
If you are 16 or over and would like to get involved,
you’ll be warmly welcomed.
Come and see our latest show
in February and then get in touch with Mary Barber on
01929 553963 or Di Scupholme on 01929 551817.
Why not have a look at some of our
previous shows!
We always welcome new members, so if you would like to join us please email us at info@rexplayers.co.uk
